What does a hologram do?

A hologram records and reconstructs the field of light that bounces off a three-dimensional object. This is done in a way that allows to preserve depth information. The recording also includes many display directions simultaneously. That way, the viewer can change the perspective by shaking his head.

EOTech's story

In 1972, the Michigan State Legislature established an independent and nonprofit research institute, Willow Runs Laboratories. Later it was renamed the Michigan Institute for Environmental Research (ERIM).

Two decades later, in 1993, ERIM formed Michigan Development Corporation (MDC) to market ERIM technology and create derivative companies.

In 1995, MDC created EOTech as a wholly owned subsidiary of ERIM.

EOTech moved to a larger facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2007. That year, the company also obtained the ISO 9001: 2000 record.

A period of rapid growth followed. The company continuously introduced new products and increased production capacity in its new facilities to meet the growing demand:

The EOLAD ™ 552 with integrated laser aiming device was produced in 2007 for the US Special Forces. UU.

The M40GL ™ ECOS-GL Grenade Launcher Sight was designed in 2008 for USSOCOM.

Several new HWS models were designed in 2009 to meet the specific needs of the US Marine Corps. UU. And other customers.
In 2010, a rapid detachable assembly was introduced that overcame the design limitations of previous rapid removable assemblies.

Also in 2010, the company designed a short HWS with side buttons and improved the 3.25X magnifying glass. Together with the quick detachable assembly, the trio formed a 1X-3X multipurpose compact optics.
EOTech becomes part of the Warrior Systems Division of L3

In 2010, with the L3 acquisition of Insight Technology, EOTech became part of the Warrior Systems Division of L3. The division also includes Insights, Electro-Optical Systems and Infrared Products. The Warrior Systems Division produces a wide range of night vision, lighting, thermal and intensive products for global customers.
